A Recorder Orchestra that meets twice a month in Shrewsbury for the pleasure of playing a variety of multi-part recorder music.
The aim of the Consort is to promote the recorder and its music and to support the diverse recorder community in the wider area by providing opportunities socially and educationally.
We envisage a future in which the recorder and its music are enjoyed, valued and supported across generations, ethnicities and cultures.
We currently have around twenty members playing a range of recorders from sopranino to contra bass.
We meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays in the month in St Chad's Church Hall, next to St Chad's Church, Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
Our Musical Director is Richard Duncan who provides and arranges music for us ranging from medieval to modern.
We welcome new players who are able to read music and are interested in playing in a group. If you think you would like to give it a try, please get in touch and come and join in one of our sessions.
