Welcome to the Shrewsbury Consort of Recorders
A Recorder Orchestra that meets twice a month in Shrewsbury for the pleasure of playing a variety of multi-part recorder music.
Our Aim
The aim of the Consort is to promote the recorder and its music and to support the diverse recorder community in the wider area by providing opportunities socially and educationally.
We envisage a future in which the recorder and its music are enjoyed, valued and supported across generations, ethnicities and cultures.
The Consort
We currently have twenty one members playing a range of recorders from sopranino to contra bass.
Location
We meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays in the month in St Chad's Church Hall, next to St Chad's Church, Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
Our Director
Our musical director is Richard Duncan who provides and arranges music for us ranging from medieval to modern.
New Members
We welcome new players who are able to read music and play in a group.
